Since the introduction of the Chromecast two years ago, Google has sold 17 million worldwide streaming sticks.
The company reported at the annual developer conference last week.
Chromecast Google is an HDMI stick that plugs into a TV. The device is intended for older TVs that are not "smart" and do not have internet and apps.
Various mobile apps with support for Chromecast let users send images from their phone, tablet or computer to the TV.

At the presentation of the quarterly figures for the fourth quarter of 2014 called Google Chrome Cast been "hit".
"The use of the Chromecast is a device about 60 percent since the original release. This is partly due to the increasing number Chromecast apps," says Google.
There are now more than 10,000 apps Chromecast functionality available in Google Play.
