The last time Apple introduced a new default font in its operating systems was only in 2013. With the arrival of iOS 7 and OS X Y, osemite Apple users were suddenly dealing with Helvetica Neue and that was not at all well received. Social media users do often complain about the "sterile" font. The new font that San Francisco is called, is slightly thicker and according to 9to5Mac also much more readable.
Final details on iOS and OS X 9 10:11 are expected in June at the annual developer conference WWDC. On June 8, Apple has scheduled a presentation.
