McLaren extends Sports Series with 540C Coupe

McLaren extends the Sports Series - after the arrival of the 570S - with the 540C. Currently the car is in Shanghai.

The 540C Coupe together with the recently presented 570S the 'entry level' part of the McLaren range: the Sports Series.

Behind the front seats is the familiar 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 that sends in this case 540 hp and 540 Nm of torque to the rear wheels.

The car goes from 0 to 100 kilometers in 3.5 seconds. The top speed is 320 km / h. This makes it slightly less rapid than the 570S Coupe, which takes 3.2 seconds to 100 km / h and 328 km / h is the maximum. McLaren positions them 540C among the 570S in the range also.
