BMW's new 7 Series in cosmetics IS nothing more than an evolution from its predecessor. Beneath that is an entirely different story, since BMW first carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) being used in the chassis, resulting in a significantly lower vehicle weight.
Carbon Core
The use of CFRP in a 'Carbon Core' reduces the mass of less than 130 kilograms compared to its predecessor. The material has another consequence. The 7 Series comes again in two body lengths, the longest has approximately thirteen inches longer wheelbase.
Air suspension
The chassis promises to be more comfortable than its predecessor and is equipped with air suspension. The springs are coupled to an electronically controlled compressor. Engines
