Mortal Kombat X Review
It is difficult for a game series to remain good for twenty years, but Mortal Kombat is one in such series. Although there are also some weaker parts are that released in those years, developer Netherrealm did with Mortal Kombat 9 to resume the magic again. Let's see if some ten that success can continue.

But first to the laity: like its predecessor, Mortal Kombat X a 2D fighting game. Each slug fest consists of two fighters and end may terminate the victor by a 'fatality' his opponents live in a bloody manner. A simple fact, so.
Core
The fighting itself is basically identical to the fight in section nine, though there are some new features added. So every fighter now has three different fighting styles. These select after selecting a character. Each fighting style has its own nuances and adds a special attack or two to the arsenal. Selecting in practice leads to some experimenting, and most people will have found a favorite style and which remains. In addition, it is now possible to use objects in the arenas. Sometimes it can be thrown at an opponent (my favorite is an old woman walking around in one of the levels), while other objects can be used to jump from to create so away.
Finally, there is a 'stamina'-meter. Deflates when you use the objects or when you run. He fills slowly during the fight itself again, but you have to make sure that he is not emptied. Otherwise you can not perform the actions described above.
Over all, the innovations are quite subtle. I'm not criticising, but I honestly do not know whether they really add something to the game fun. Therefore it is still too early to say. The best I can say about it is that they are at least not in the way and fighting in itself still goes wonderfully fluent. Mortal Kombat 9 was one of the best fighting games of the last generation of consoles and that base here is just as strong.
Game modes
All that can fight in a huge amount of game modes. The impressive story mode part in nine makes MKX example a return. Players can go through a whole story, with all fights are chatting together with a story about a civil war in the Outworld, a different dimension than ours. Unfortunately for us earthlings, we also suffer from this war.
This mode is just like in the previous section and in Injustice: Gods Among Us by the same authors, an excellent way to get to know many of the characters. You will not get them to control all of them, but you get them at least to see it all, so you know what they can pretty much.
Then there are the 'Challenge Towers, sets challenges with specific goals you need to accomplish, and of course you can go online again fight the necessary robbertjes. Nice is that the Krypt is now also quite extensive. In previous parts of this was simply a method to unlock extras with coins earned while fighting, but now there is quite a puzzle made of where you need to find objects and to discover new parts of the world. A very nice addition.
Finally there is the Faction War. Each player chooses when voro first booting the game a faction and everything you do contributes points to the total. At the end of each 'season' a winner is declared and the members are given a special extra, like an exclusive fatality to perform. A nice addition.
Conclusion
Mortal Kombat X is an excellent fighting game. The game plays like a charm and the many different game modes sure you hours and hours it can be sweet. Highly recommended for fans of a solid fight whoever happens.
Mortal Kombat X has been tested on the PlayStation 4, but is also available for the Xbox One and PC.
